Join Phil Ryan for an evening of songs and stories from his extraordinary musical career. Playing since he was 8 years old he started with banjo, ukulele and finally found the guitar – he ate, slept and breathed music. After years sitting watching and learning from great players he finally began to tread the boards himself. He quickly gained a reputation as a fine 12 string and 6 string player and his original songs were soon attracting interest. Soon he was touring the country with many iconic names.
Amazingly in the 90’s he took a brief break from music to co-found The Big Issue with his friend John Bird (Now Lord Bird) Returning to music he then got asked to become lead singer for the reformation of iconic band The Animals and soon he found himself playing to a 100,000 strong crowd in Red Square Moscow. On his return from touring he then went on to found London’s iconic and world famous 12 Bar Club and more festival work followed. He then formed The Phil Ryan Band and played at various venues and festivals across Germany including the world renowned Schlachthof in Munich and the Bardentreffen Festival in Nuremberg. He’s released singles to support the Jack Brown Cancer appeal and last year the Christmas single ‘Walking Down this Lonely Street’ for The Big Issue Christmas appeal.
In the next months and through 2021 to 2022 he will be returning to the European Festival circuit as a solo artist and with The Phil Ryan Band (once the Covid 19 crisis lessens) He will be announcing upcoming and future tour dates on his Spotify Artists page. Feel free to join him on Facebook at Phil Ryan Music. New tracks can be regularly found on all his music pages.
